The new Regional Hospital of Tadjourah in Djibouti, built with assistance from China, was inaugurated on Dec 15. President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh, along with the country's prime minister, parliament speaker and health minister, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Djibouti Hu Bin, attended the inauguration ceremony.
In their speeches, the Djiboutian leaders thanked China for its assistance, saying the hospital will significantly improve the medical conditions for people in the north of the country. They look forward to future cooperation with China in various fields, they added.
Hu said the hospital project fully reflects the common goal of the two governments to put people first and promote health for all, and the inauguration ceremony marks a successful end on a high note to the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Djibouti. China is ready to work with Djibouti to implement the consensus reached between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and strive for the high-level development of the China-Djibouti comprehensive strategic partnership, he added.
