Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, met with Prime Minister of Senegal Ousmane Sonko in Beijing on June 26. Sonko is in China to attend the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos.
Chen said that China and Senegal are good friends and partners and that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Senegal. Under the guidance of the presidents of both countries, China-Senegal relations have maintained high-level development with fruitful outcomes achieved in various fields of cooperation, he said. China is ready to work with Senegal to jointly implement the consensus reached between the two heads of state, strengthen strategic alignment, expand pragmatic cooperation and build more people's livelihood projects, in a bid to promote steady and sustainable advancement of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, he added.
Sonko thanked China for its long-term support for the economic and social development of his country. Pointing out that Senegal is the safest and most stable country in West Africa, he offered his invitations to Chinese enterprises to invest and build businesses in Senegal. He also pledged to deepen cooperation with China in various fields such as public health, agriculture and talent incubation, in order to benefit both countries and their people.
